About This Role
We are hiring a Frontend Developer to build fast, accessible and beautiful web experiences for BuyQuick. You will work on buyquick.ng (our public website, marketplace product pages, receipt verification and careers portal), our customer web app and our internal admin console used for operations, refunds and dispute resolution.
You will also help design and build the interface for our upcoming AI chat assistant for business bill payments. Many of our users are on mid-range Android phones and changing network conditions, so performance and clarity matter as much as looks.
Key responsibilities:
• Build and maintain web applications using React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Turn designs into responsive, pixel-accurate and accessible interfaces that work well on mobile.
• Build secure flows for sign-in, wallet funding, bill payments, transfers, escrow orders and bulk Excel uploads.
• Integrate with backend REST APIs and Firebase services, with clear loading, error and empty states.
• Improve performance, Core Web Vitals and SEO across buyquick.ng, using server-side rendering and static generation where appropriate.
• Build reusable components and help maintain a consistent design system.
• Write tests for critical flows and take part in code reviews.
• Work closely with backend, product and marketing on new features, landing pages and campaigns.
Nice to have:
• Experience building fintech, payment or e-commerce interfaces.
• Experience with data tables and dashboards for admin tools.
• Experience building chat interfaces or integrating AI features.
• React Native experience.
• Open-source contributions or a strong public portfolio.

Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional frontend development experience.
- Strong skills in React, Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, HTML5 and modern CSS.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS or a similar styling approach.
- Experience with state and data management (for example, React Query, Redux or Zustand) and REST API integration.
- Good understanding of web performance, SEO, accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design.
- Familiarity with Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Hosting) or similar backend-as-a-service tools.
- Understanding of frontend security, including safe handling of tokens and user input.
- Experience with Git, pull requests and CI/CD.
- OND, HND, Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with a strong portfolio.
